With the intensity of masters picking up at uni, I’ve been having to push my subscription boxes aside to focus on my studies. I realised that I had to boxes to post my unboxing for so I thought I’d put them together in one super unboxing post! In this post I’ll be sharing what I received in both my April and May boxes for this year from the Aussie beauty subscription box, Bellabox. (Update: It’s now been even longer with this post left unfinished, my apologies!)

The first box I received was for April, with the theme ‘Social Flirt’. By the name of this theme, I expected some fun items for a day or night out, or just about any social event really! I was super excited to receive this month’s box as I knew a NYX palette would be included. I’m overall really happy with the items received, and I’ve got a few thoughts on each item.

The first thing that caught my eye in this box was definitely the palette. I was super keen to see which palette I’d receive from NYX as from my experience I’ve really enjoyed the formula of their shadows. I was very pleased to receive the Avant Pop! palette as I don’t have anything like it in my collection, and I’m very excited to use it. The next product I noticed was the sunscreen from Sun Bum. As I’ve mentioned in previous Bellaboxes, I’ve never liked receiving suncreens as I really don’t go through much, and don’t find it particularly exciting receiving these sorts of products in boxes – I also noticed that this particular brand doesn’t use some active ingredients like zinc that are often crucial in sunscreens.

I also received a tinted balm from Pixi Beauty, which I was very happy to see – unfortunately I already had the colour that came in my box so I passed this one onto a housemate, but I can definitely say that I LOVE these balms. They’re so nourishing on the lips and give a stunning colour payoff. The last two items included a perfume sample, which I tend to be indifferent to as they’re such small sample sizes, but I do like the scent – and the last product was a single tester eye mask from BLAQ. We’ve received treatments from this brand before and I’ve enjoyed them so I’m keen to try these out – however it’s always tricky to get a feel for the product when there’s only one use included in the box.

I hadn’t looked at any of the previews for May’s box on social media so the whole box was a giant surprise for me, and I was very impressed. The theme for May’s box was ‘Weekend Skin’. This theme made me think that all of the products would be very face-based, and they definitely are. This box on first impressions includes a couple of items that I’ve seen in previous boxes but also some very exciting and different products.

As mentioned at the start of the post, I barely had a chance to look at April’s box before May’s showed up at my doorstep! It’s crazy how quickly time is going for me lately. When I opened this box I was quite pleased by what I was greeted with. The first thing I noticed was the Enbacci Skincare clay mask as it was full-sized, and it’s always nice to receive some products that aren’t samples. There were a few different options that we could have received from this brand but I’m really pleased that I got this one as I LOVE clay masks. I then noticed a tint stick from Universal beauty, as it is a product that I’ve actually received in a previous box – but in a different colour. Straight away I knew this would be one that I passed on as I’m not a fan of the formula, to me it smells and tastes like I’m using a marker pen as lipstick. We also recived a sample size hair treatment from Revlon- which I was surprised by as Revlon is known to test on animals and Bellabox claims to be cruelty free. The final two products are ones I’m super excited for – the first being the White Glo charcoal toothpaste as if you read my last teeth whitening post, I’m all about whiter teeth! The last (and best!) product in the box was a STUNNING highlighter from Model Co; the texture of this highlighter feels lovely and I can’t wait to use it.

one. Product: Enbacci Deep Exfoliant Pore Clarifying Skin Smoothing Scrub, full size| RRP $45, 75ml | Available from brand site
Product: White Glo Activated Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste, 16ml | RRP $5.99, 150ml | Available from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse or brand site
Product: Universal Beauty Cosmetics Tint Stick (nude pink), full size | RRP $19.99 | Available from brand site
Product: ModelCo Baked Highlighter (moonshine), full size| RRP $25 | Available from brand site and Priceline
Product: Revlon Uniq One Hair Treatment, 9ml | RRP $29,95, 150ml | Available from Target and brand site

Overall I was quite pleased by both of these boxes. The final value for the April box was $76.45 AUD, and for the may box $101.78 AUD. The value for both of the boxes was quite impressive, especially considering we only pay $17 for the box each month, including shipping. Between the two boxes I couldn’t choose a favourite as both included items that I’m very excited about – for the April box I cannot wait to use the palette and I always love trying out eye masks, whereas in the May box I was extremely impressed by the highlighter and the full sized clay mask. Did you receive either of these boxes? What were your thoughts? Again so sorry that my uploads have been fairly random, but hoping to get back into a better routine for the second half of the year!

Much love, Ebony xoxo
