‘Tis the season for gift purchases if you’re like me and try to be organised for Christmas super early, and I came across this SUPER cute lip balm trio from Frank Body that I think could be a perfect stocking stuffer, small gift or in my case – a little moment of treat yo’self. Frank Body is an Australian made, women owned company that started up a few years back as an online indie store and has completely boomed with their coffee-based cruelty free products now being stocked and sold in Mecca stores around the country.

Originally, Frank Body only sold their original coffee scrub (which is still available to purchase), but now they’ve got a wide range of products for any body needs you may have including skincare, body scrubs and creams, lip balms and now – tinted lip balms. When I saw this little trio on their instagram I thought it would make a brilliant gift, but I wanted it for myself! The trio includes their original lip balm as well as two brand new tinted balm formulas in a nude and a red.

The kit comes with three different products; a classic lip balm and two different tinted balms in the colours ‘cherry bomb’ and ‘send nudes’. You can buy each balm individually for $11.95AUD or in this trio for $29.95AUD – I personally love the trio as you save a bit of money and it comes in a cute box that is perfect for gifting. Prior to purchasing this trio, I already had been using an original lip balm for about a year and I LOVE the formula – it’s super moisturizing and nourishing and has the most lovely coffee fragrance that is of course completely natural. Because I love the original balm so much I knew I wouldn’t mind having a back up, and that I’d probably end up liking the tinted balms also.

When I first opened the tinted balms I had a hard time getting the product out, much more so than the original balm. The consistency of the tinted balms is much thicker – so when the tube isn’t warmed up you’ll need to squeeze the tube with just about all your strength to get any product. My personal tip to solve this problem is to either quickly rub the tube between your hands to warm the product up, or alternatively store the tube in a warmer environment like your pocket or car.

As far as the colours go I love them all, both the red and nude are wonderfully subtle making them perfect for no makeup, makeup. I’d describe the colour Cherry Bomb as a sweet and deep pinky red, and the colour Send Nudes as a warm tone peachy nude. I personally think that both coloured balms would suit any skin ton beautifully, as they seem to be very universal and not too over-the-top.

On first impression and after a few times using each of these products, I think they’re a great deal! The quality of all three is amazing – with the coloured balms holding up the same nourishment quality that the original balm has. I honestly think that just about anyone would love and appreciate this kit as a gift and it’s definitely super affordable! Some other mega pros of Frank Body is that they’re (mostly) vegan and cruelty free, so there’s no reason not to love their products (unless you hate coffee, I guess!).

If you’d like to read some of my other lip product posts be sure to check out the time where I tried on 24 liquid lipsticks that all looked AMAZING, or my go-to winter lipsticks for all of you in the Northern Hemisphere. Let me know if you’re thinking of getting this trio for a friend or yourself – and if you’ve got any stocking stuffer suggestions!

Much Love, Ebony xo

I’ve heard so much about their scrub – I think it’s so cool that they’ve also started making lip balms. The colours look really pretty!
