It’s that time of month again, where I unbox and review the items I received in my Bellabox – this post, October. The theme of this box is ‘Beauty Tricks & Treats’, which I’m assuming is a play on the fact that Halloween is this month. When I think of this theme for beauty and skincare I expect items that might be a little gimmicky and some that might be a little indulgent (like treats!). After glancing over the products in my box I think they definitely fulfill the given theme for the month – with a few products including lots of nourishing oils. I apologize that this unboxing is quite late in the month, I received my box about a week ago and only just opened it a couple days ago – and with a mix of university finals I’m only now sitting down to do the unboxing, so, here we go!

Product: Models Own Colour Chrome Eyeshadow Kit in ‘Night Galaxy’, Full Sized | RRP $19.95 | Available from Priceline or Brand Site

I knew I’d be receiving this product before the box arrived as I was sent a preview email. When I first looked at the sneak peak I got my hopes up as some of the colours that were going out were STUNNING. I remember thinking “I really hope I don’t get the black one” as I rarely use black shadow, and this product really seemed like an ‘all over the lid’ kinda deal. But alas, here i am with the black colour… sigh, my luck. I’m also quite shocked by the price of this product, seeing as Models Own is a drugstore brand and $20 is quite up there in price.

Product: Reef Dry Sun Tan Oil SPT 30+, 30ml | 125ml RRP $11.49 | Available from Priceline or Chemist Warehouse

Ahhhh… those #RepeatOffenders. While it hasn’t been in my unboxing posts, I’ve actually received this same sun tan oil sample a couple of times in my boxes, back in the summer time. I’m generally not big on this sort of product, and I think I’ve only used my other sample once. The number one reason why I don’t tend to use tanning oil is simply because I do not tan, like at all. I go from being a pale marshmallow to a lumpy tomato covered in freckles very quickly – so good old SPF50+ sunscreen is the way I tend to go. This sample will probably be another that I pass on to a friend who will utilize it more than I would.

Product: Kerastase Paris Exlixir Ultime Bi-Phase Spray Oil, 50ml | 100ml RRP $59.00 | Available from Adore Beauty or Brand Site

Now, this product I was excited to see! I LOVE hair oils, a lot. As I’ve got bleached foils where my hair is pink, and I’ve always dyed my hair since I was 13 my hair is pretty dry and gross, or can be at least. So whenever I wash my hair I will always apply a hair oil onto the ends of my hair when it’s damp, every time. It’ll be cool to try out a new kind of hair oil and I’m interested to see how the spray performs with my hair. This product is half the size of the retail size and that product is actually quite expensive, so keen to see how this goes!

Product: Swisse Hyaluro-Natural Moisturising Facial Serum, 4ml | 30ml RRP $29.95 | Available from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse or Brand Site

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a facial serum in a subscription box, it’s something a little different to a generic moisturiser and something that’s usually a little pricier to purchase yourself. This Swisse sample is definitely tiny, with there only being 4ml of product in the sample – but I do appreciate that packaging of this sample. Usually when the product contents is so small brands will often just package the product in a foil packet or a cheap plastic bottle. This one is still in the usual Swisse glass bottle with a pump still included. Hopefully the product is just as good!

Product: Natures Commonscents Soap Bar – Coconut Oil, 100g | 100g RRP $2.00 | Available from Coles and Advantage Pharmacy

When I saw this product in the box I had a little giggle, because if you read my last post, you know that I said that I solely use Lush Cosmetics soap and have done for two years now. So this bar of soap will definitely be passed on to someone else I’d say, as I’ve got SO MANY Lush soaps to go through. Some good stuff about this soap though – there’s no sulphates or parabens, and not only is the product Australian made but it’s also cruelty free – so that’s cool! I do like the scent of this particular soap and it’s nice to see such an affordable brand available that has good ingredients.

That was my October Bellabox! Overall I’m not that thrilled by all the products but I am curious to try out some of them! The overall value of the full size equivalents to the products is $122.39 making the worth of these samples received $58.19 which is definitely on the higher end of the worth scale of my previous Bellaboxes. What did you get in your October box? Did you love or hate the products you received? Let me know!

Much love, Ebony xo
